Spanish Bar Owner Arrested for Exploiting Undocumented Moroccan Worker in Barcelona

The Spanish police have arrested the owner of a bar in Tarrassa (Barcelona), accused of having exploited a Moroccan worker who had neither a contract, nor health insurance, nor the right to holidays and who was not registered with social security.
The Moroccan worked about ten hours a day and six days a week for a meager salary of 700 euros per month. He lived this situation of labor exploitation for a good three years.
The owner of the establishment was arrested by the police after receiving several anonymous complaints, which led the agents to go to the bar to investigate the recruitment and treatment conditions of the workers.
According to the investigators, the owner took advantage of the situation of the Moroccan, who is not very educated, and who has no family or close relatives in the municipality, to impose these illegal working conditions on him.
