Moroccan Worker Alleges Assault, Labor Exploitation by Spanish Employer

A Moroccan has filed a complaint against his employer who allegedly assaulted him in La Carlota, in the Cordoba region. He also accuses him of a crime against workers’ rights for not having respected his commitment to sign him an employment contract to allow him to regularize his situation in Spain.
In his complaint, the Moroccan denounced his employer who allegedly assaulted him after he asked him to keep his promise to sign him an employment contract in order to regularize his situation in Spain. He was injured during the assault, reports Cordoba Noticias.
The investigations carried out by the Civil Guard revealed that the complainant has been working in this company for more than two years without ever taking any leave and without being affiliated with social security. He was in an irregular situation on Spanish territory.
After obtaining sufficient evidence against the employer, the Civil Guard proceeded to his arrest as the alleged perpetrator of assault and battery and a crime against workers’ rights. He was made available to the competent judicial authority.
