Landlord Arrested for Threatening Eviction of Moroccan Family in Spain

The National Police arrested a man in Palma for threatening a tenant (a Moroccan, his wife and their two minor children) to leave his house located in Son Gotleu. This couple owed him several months of rent and had already received a notice to vacate the premises.
The events took place on August 23, the date on which the arrested owner went to the house to evict the tenant and his family. The 38-year-old Paraguayan woman, seeing him enter the house, asked her 41-year-old Moroccan husband to quickly come back with their daughter. "Today, you are going to get out," the owner said to the woman as she tried to prevent him from entering the house. The owner managed to push her with the door, causing her abdominal pain, as she is four months pregnant, reports Ultima Hora.
The woman’s husband then intervened and the owner ended up leaving the premises. The National Police officers, who arrived on the scene a few moments later, were able to locate and arrest him for violence, threats and assault and battery. The woman was taken to the hospital. She explained to the agents that for two months, the owner has been threatening to evict them. "If you don’t leave the house, I’ll make you leave by force," he would tell them. The tenants had already filed a complaint against him in June, the agents confirmed.
