Spanish Authorities: Moroccan Man Behind Airport Escape Plot Has Criminal Record
The Spanish authorities claim that the Moroccan passenger who had simulated a health problem in order to allow the escape of other passengers at Palma airport is known to the justice system.
The investigation triggered by this case, which made headlines last week, has ended up in the corridors of the Spanish justice system.
According to sources cited by the Europa press agency, the investigation revealed that the fake patient had already been arrested in Spain for damaging the property of others and resisting the authorities.
According to the same source, the twelve passengers arrested by the police in this case, including the one who had simulated a health problem, all Moroccans, were presented on Monday before the prosecutor of the Palma de Mallorca court.
They face serious charges related to "endangering the lives of others and violating air security" for orchestrating a massive escape from the plane connecting Casablanca and Istanbul.
