Spain’s Sanchez Emphasizes Morocco’s Importance Ahead of Bilateral Talks in Rabat

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez assures that he will always defend "the preservation of good relations" with Morocco. The two countries will hold discussions on topics of interest in Rabat next week.
"The facts and reality confirm the importance of Morocco for Spain and for Europe," said Pedro Sanchez, during a debate in the Congress of Deputies, stressing that it is not only in their interest to maintain the best relations, for Spain, but also for the European Union.
He welcomed the increase in trade with Morocco, which increased by 33% last year, reaching nearly 10 billion euros, and the decrease in the arrival of irregular migrants. "Of all the migration routes to Europe, the only one that has decreased is the one from Morocco to Spain," argued the President of the Government.
