Spain releases a big figure of the Mocro Maffia, the Netherlands surprised

In Spain, Karim Bouyakhrichan (46), one of the main leaders of the Mocro maffia, a mafia organization based in the Netherlands and Belgium, arrested in January in the seaside resort of Marbella, on suspicion of money laundering from drug trafficking, has been released.
Karim Bouyakhrichan, nicknamed "Taxi", is now free to move around. He has been released by the Spanish justice system. While the reasons for this release are not yet known, it is possible that the Spanish magistrate considered that there was not enough evidence to keep him in detention any longer. The public prosecutor’s office in the Netherlands can appeal the decision. The Dutch authorities had requested the extradition of the one who is considered one of the main leaders of the Mocro maffia after being informed of his arrest in Spain. They suspect him of large-scale drug trafficking.
Suspected of having laundered six million euros from international drug trafficking, "Taxi" had been arrested last January in the Spanish seaside resort of Marbella. During his arrest, 75,000 euros in cash, jewelry estimated at 10,000 euros and two firearms were seized. The freezing of three million euros spread over 148 bank accounts as well as 173 real estate assets worth 50 million euros was also carried out.
Karim is the elder brother of Samir "Scarface" Bouyakhrichan, assassinated in 2014. He is the target of investigations in the Netherlands and Spain.
