Spain Honors Top Moroccan Security Officials with Prestigious Civil Guard Award

The Spanish government has awarded the Director General of National Security and Director General of Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, and the Army Corps General and Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Gendarmerie, Mohammed Haramou, the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard.
According to the Spanish Official Gazette, the Council of Ministers has already approved this distinction on the proposal of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska. The Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard is the highest decoration of this institution.
On October 22, 2014, Spain had decorated Abdellatif Hammouchi, then head of the Territorial Surveillance Directorate (DST), with the "Honorary Cross of Police Merit with red distinction", one of the highest honorary distinctions awarded to foreign personalities.
