Spain Reports Improved Border Security with Morocco, Citing Enhanced Cooperation

Morocco and Spain are now cooperating better than in the past. This is at least what Fernando Grande-Marlaska, Spanish Minister of the Interior, made known during a press conference.
"Today, we are really cooperating with Morocco." This statement by Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska, reported by the Spanish news agency EFE, testifies to the warming of relations between the two countries.
And the results obtained speak volumes. According to Minister Grande-Marlaska, this cooperation has produced "fewer attacks and entries than in all other years" at the borders separating the two kingdoms.
Moreover, this cooperation has made it possible to have "more trained and equipped personnel" to "collect data and conduct investigations on mafias and trafficking in illegal immigration".
Similarly, the Spanish Government has created 5,000 jobs for police officers and civil guards, modeled on the proposal of the Spanish Popular Party (PP) to increase the police force in Ceuta with 200 civil guards and 200 national police officers, says Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
"We have managed to reduce by more than 50% the number of illegal migrants arriving on our coasts thanks to the cooperation with our partners, and in particular with Morocco," Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez had rejoiced in a television debate on November 4th.
