Spain Funds Two Desalination Plants in Morocco to Address Water Crisis

Morocco will be able to build two seawater desalination plants in the cities of Assa Zag and Moulay Brahim. This is thanks to a loan approved by the Spanish government.
This credit will be granted through the Fund for the Internationalization of the Company to the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), indicates the Presidency of the Spanish government. Seawater desalination is one of the means found by Morocco to cope with the water crisis that the country is constantly experiencing. It has been considered as a means of drinking water supply since 1973, reports the MAP.
It should be noted that the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) has carried out several projects concerning the construction, operation and maintenance of desalination plants, in the southern provinces in order to meet the drinking water needs of the populations, specifies the same source.
