Spain and Morocco Vie for 2030 World Cup Final Hosting Rights

"Nothing has been decided," said the leader of the Spanish Football Federation, Pedro Rocha, regarding the country that will host the 2030 World Cup Final, jointly organized by Spain, Morocco and Portugal, after Madrid and Rabat expressed their desire to host the title match.
"There is a schedule to make these decisions and they have not yet been made. When the decision is made, it will be announced to everyone," said Pedro Rocha, president of the RFEF management commission, at a press conference with his Moroccan and Portuguese counterparts.
Likewise, no clues were given about the general distribution of matches for each country, according to the leaders of the three neighboring countries, gathered at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé.
"The work continues, we have until the end of June to finalize the project. The day when everything will be set regarding the matches, from the kick-off to the final, we will communicate the composition of the proposal that we will register together," said, for his part, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, who had expressed on October 5 the wish to organize the final at the Grand Stade de Casablanca (Mohammedia), during a statement to a local radio station.
FIFA designated Morocco, Spain and Portugal as hosts of the 2030 World Cup, as well as three matches that will take place in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay, at the beginning of October.
"The precise number of stadiums will result from the technical work [...] the most important thing is that the philosophy of preparing this project does not rely on pre-established positions," Lekjaa also said.
