Son Arrested in Marrakech for Suspected Murder of Retired Teacher Mother

The Imintanout police have arrested a man suspected of murdering his mother, a retired teacher, in the Al Mahdi neighborhood in Marrakech.
On Monday, the Al Mahdi neighborhood experienced a night of maximum alert after the discovery of the body of the retired teacher, lying lifeless in her home. The local authorities and the security services, under the direction of the wali of security and the heads of the judicial police and the security zone, mobilized to secure the crime scene and identify the suspect.
The latter, his son, who suffers from mental disorders, fled towards Agadir on a motorcycle before it broke down. He then took a truck, where he was spotted by police officers who then identified him as being wanted for the murder. He was arrested and handed over to the judicial police of Marrakech for further investigation.
The investigation is still ongoing under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The exact circumstances of the crime and the motivations of the suspect have not yet been clarified.
