Son Arrested for Father's Murder in Kenitra After Phone Evidence Reveals Deception

The village of Tannaja in the province of Kenitra is still in shock following the murder of a 52-year-old man. The suspect is none other than the victim’s son, who tried to cover up his crime, but was betrayed by his phone.

Barely in his twenties, a young man beat his father to death, who succumbed to severe bleeding. A cold-blooded murder that shook the entire village, reports the daily Assabah, which points out that to cover his tracks, he told the gendarmes that his father had contacted him at 3:30 a.m. to tell him that he had been attacked by strangers not far from his house. According to his account, he rushed to help him before taking him to his home where he succumbed to his injuries.

His version of the facts did not convince the gendarmes, who found no trace of an assault at the place where the accused claimed to have found his father injured. It was only during the investigation that the gendarmes found that the father and his son were leading a rather tense relationship. Threatening messages were found on the suspect’s phone. Worse, in an audio conversation recorded with his girlfriend, the young man told her that he was going to kill his father and cut him up. Overwhelming evidence that prompted the investigators to focus on him.

Further investigations allowed the gendarmes to discover that the suspect had been holding a grudge against his father since he separated and was having relationships with young women in full view of the villagers, bringing dishonor to his family.

Referred to the public prosecutor’s office, he was prosecuted under arrest for voluntary homicide with premeditation and contempt of the judicial authority.
