Sofyan Amrabat to Manchester United: details of the transfer

Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has finally joined the ranks of Manchester United, a club he describes as a "childhood dream". It took several weeks of discussions with Fiorentina to reach an agreement.
The 27-year-old player is on loan to United for one season, for a fee of 10 million euros. The English club also has an option to make the transfer permanent, estimated at 20 million euros.
Sofyan Amrabat distinguished himself by his performances during the World Cup in Qatar last year. He played a key role in helping Morocco become the first African and Arab team to reach the semi-finals of the tournament. At club level, he was an important element in Fiorentina’s run to the Coppa Italia and Europa Conference League finals last season.
"I am a passionate player and I will give everything for this team," said Amrabat, who is delighted to work again under coach Erik ten Hag, whom he knew during his time at the Dutch club Utrecht.
Manchester United sporting director John Murtough expressed optimism about this new acquisition. According to him, Amrabat’s "committed mentality and boundless energy" fit perfectly with the team in the making. "We are confident that Sofyan will bring dynamism and technical qualities to our group," he added.
