Snow and Near-Freezing Temperatures Hit Morocco’s Atlas Mountains and Northern Regions

Snow showers are expected this Saturday, January 19, on the peaks of the Middle Atlas, according to the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN) in its daily bulletin.
Rains and showers are also expected in the Gharb, the coasts and plains north of Safi, the Rif, the Middle Atlas, the Tangier region, the Saiss, the phosphate plateaus, the Mediterranean, the north of the Oriental, Tadla, Rhamna, Abda, Chaouia, Doukkala and Loukkos.
In terms of temperatures, it will be -5 to 0 degrees on the reliefs, 0 to -5 degrees on the Oriental, the phosphate plateaus and the southeast, 5 to 11 degrees on the north and center, and 7 to 12 degrees on the Souss and the southern provinces.
This afternoon, it is expected to be 2 to 9 degrees on the reliefs, 7 to 12 degrees on the Phosphate plateaus, the Saiss and the Oriental, 12 to 18 degrees on the southeast, the north and the center, and 19 to 24 degrees on the southern provinces.
