The professors of the Higher School of Technology (EST) in Casablanca say they are victims of sexual harassment and verbal abuse from one of their colleagues. The latter is currently being prosecuted and will have to appear in court on January 25, 2022.
A new case of sexual harassment in Morocco. This time, it is the Higher School of Technology (EST) in Casablanca that is at the heart of a sexual scandal. The former president of the Department of Management Techniques and other school officials would be involved in this case. Several complaints had been filed with the office of the president and the former president of the Hassan II University of Casablanca, Awatef Hayar, the current Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, and the director of the school, without any follow-up. The latter concealed 100 complaints, thus trying to cover up the case.
According to the testimonies collected by Al Oâmk Al Maghribi, many professors have been victims of blackmail, sexual harassment and verbal abuse accompanied by threats of expulsion for those who refused to submit to the desires of the professor in question. The latter is also accused of having tried to rape a professor in her own hotel room during a scientific conference in Tunisia.
The case broke out after the resignation of the presidency of the Department of Management Techniques. The harassing professor is currently being prosecuted and will have to appear in court on January 25, 2022.
