Strong Winds Divert Multiple Flights from Tangier’s Ibn Battuta Airport

Several flights destined for Ibn Battuta Airport in Tangier have been forced in recent hours to change their trajectory due to bad weather conditions.
An Air Arabia flight from London to Tangier had to land at Al Aroui Airport in Nador due to gusts of wind, according to sources at the Rue20 site, specifying that the aircraft was redirected to Tangier after the weather conditions became favorable.
A second Air Arabia flight from Brussels to Tangier Airport also suffered the same fate and changed course to Rabat-Salé Airport. On the other hand, a Royal Air Maroc flight from Paris managed to land at Tangier Airport, to which it was redirected after several attempts, the same sources said.
The Directorate General of Meteorology announced in a "red" level alert bulletin that the provinces of Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Larache, and Tanger-Assilah will be hit by storms and strong winds from Friday evening to 6 a.m. until Sunday at midnight.
