Severe Weather Alert: Morocco Braces for Thunderstorms and Strong Winds This Weekend

Heavy thunderstorms with gusty winds and strong gusts of wind are expected on Saturday and Sunday in several regions of Morocco, warns the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM).
Thus, heavy thunderstorms with gusty winds (20 to 30 mm) will affect, Saturday from 5pm to 11pm, the provinces of Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Al Haouz, Errachidia, Midelt, Béni Mellal and Azilal, specifies the DGM in an orange alert bulletin.
Strong gusts of wind (75 to 85 km/h) are, for their part, expected in the provinces of Tanger-Assilah, Fahs-Anjra, Tétouan, Tinghir, Midelt, Azilal, Errachidia, Zagora and Figuig from Saturday at 4pm to Sunday at 2pm, it is added.
The same phenomenon is also expected in Figuig, Jerada, Midelt, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt and Boulemane, on Sunday from 2pm to 11pm, it is further stated.
