Severe Weather Alert: Morocco Braces for Strong Winds, Rain, and Snow in Multiple Regions

Several regions of the Kingdom will be affected by strong winds, heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and snowfall above 1,700 meters, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
Between Friday 8pm and Saturday 11pm, powerful winds (85 to 100 km/h) will affect the provinces of Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Driouch, Nador, Berkane, Oujda-Angad, Jerada, Figuig, Taourirt, Guercif, Taza, Boulemane, Sefrou, Fès, Moulay Yacoub, El Hajb, Ifrane, Midelt, Tinghir and Ouarzazate, according to an orange alert bulletin from the DGM.
Similarly, slightly less strong winds (75 to 85 km/h) are expected between Friday 6pm and Saturday 6pm in the provinces of M’Diq-Fnideq, Larache, Tanger-Assilah, Fahs-Anjra, Tétouan, Kénitra, Rabat and Salé.
From Saturday midnight to Sunday 6pm, heavy thunderstorms (40 to 70 mm) will drench the provinces of Tanger-Asilah, Fahs-Anjra, M’Diq-Fnideq, Tétouan, Larache, Chefchaouen, Ouezzane, Al Hoceima and Taounate.
Finally, snowfall (15 to 35 cm) is expected from Saturday 3pm to Sunday noon in the provinces of Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Tinghir, Beni Mellal, Midelt, Ifrane, Boulemane, Sefrou, Guercif and Taza.
