Heavy Snowfall Expected in Multiple Moroccan Provinces

The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an "orange" level alert bulletin for several Moroccan provinces.
Snowfall is expected this Sunday morning, on heights exceeding 1,400 meters. The provinces of Ifrane, Sefrou, Boulemane, Taza and Guercif will be the first affected, with an accumulation of 10 to 20 cm of snow expected between 6 am and 11 pm.
The snowfall will continue on Monday, particularly in Sefrou, Ifrane, Guercif, Taza, Boulemane and Midelt where 20 to 40 cm of snow are expected. Khenifra, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Al Hoceima and Chefchaouen will also be affected by snowfall, of the order of 10 to 20 cm, in the afternoon of Monday.
In addition to this snowfall, the DGM forecasts heavy rains, sometimes thunderstorms, in the north of the country. Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra and Mdiq-Fnideq could record up to 60 mm of precipitation. Larache, Al Hoceima, Tanger-Assilah, Ouezzane and Taounate will also be affected by heavy rains.
