Severe Weather Alert: Morocco Braces for Heavy Rain and Strong Winds

Rain as well as gusts of wind are expected tomorrow, Friday, in a large part of Morocco, warns the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN).
Locally heavy rains between 40 to 60 mm are expected on Friday from 6am to 6pm in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Larache, Ouezzane, Tetouan, Tangier, Fahs-Anjra, Mdieq, Fnideq, Taounat and Taza, according to DMN.
Gusts of wind between 85 to 100 km/h are expected in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Ouezzane, Taounate and Taza and 70 to 85 km/h in Tangier, Fahs-Anjra, Mdeq, Fnideq, Larache, Kenitra, Rabat, Salé, Skhirat, Témara, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, Sidi-Kacem, Sidi Slimane, El Hajeb, Sefrou, Ifrane, Boulemane, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yaakoub, Midelt, Azilal, Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Figuig, Guercif, Taourirt, Nador, Berkane, Jerada and Oujda, it is specified.
Furthermore, snowfall of 10 to 20 cm is expected on Friday evening and Saturday in the High and Middle Atlas reliefs from 1,500 m, with also a sharp drop in temperatures.
