Severe Thunderstorms and Hail Expected Across Morocco, Weather Service Warns

Thunderstorms of high intensity are expected this Monday, October 14 in several regions of Morocco, according to a press release from the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM). These bad weather conditions will be accompanied by hail and gusts of wind, which could reach a speed of 85 km/h in certain areas.
The "orange" weather vigilance bulletin specifies that rainfall ranging from 30 to 60 mm is expected between 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the provinces of Midelt, Tinghir and Errachidia. This phenomenon could also affect other regions of the Kingdom, in particular the provinces of Taounate, Taza, Tetouan, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khenifra, Boulemane, Sefrou, Azilal, Moulay Yacoub, Al Haouz, Al Hoceima, Ouarzazate, Chefchaouen, Fez and Figuig, where thunderstorms will occur between 12:00 and 11:00 p.m.
In parallel, particularly strong gusts of wind, oscillating between 70 and 85 km/h, are expected in the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Guercif, Taourirt, Boulemane and Midelt, until 9:00 p.m.
