Settat Residents Demand Crackdown on Illegal Encroachment of Public Spaces

Exasperated, the residents of Settat are surprised by the attitude of the local authorities and call for the operation to free the public space to be extended to several neighborhoods, including El Kamal, Dallas, Salam or Mimouna.
The residents of Settat denounce the fact that the owners of residences have transformed the public domain into private property in several neighborhoods, particularly in El Kamal, Dallas, Salam and Mimouna. Some have even taken over the public road in front of the local authorities and the municipal council. They have erected metal fences, turned these spaces into private gardens and built anarchic buildings, thus defying the law. As a result, it is difficult for passers-by to circulate freely. Among these residential owners are local high-ranking officials.
Faced with this situation, the residents of Settat are surprised by the attitude of the local authorities, particularly the pasha of the city, who are carrying out operations to free the public space, without taking these neighborhoods into account. They call on them to act in order to put an end to this anarchy.
