Marrakech Residents Demand More Green Spaces Amid Drought and Urban Neglect

The maintenance of green spaces is a problem in Marrakech due to the severe drought that has been plaguing the kingdom in recent years and the lack of interest shown by the local authorities in these spaces, which are sorely lacking in certain neighborhoods of the ochre city.
The inhabitants of neighborhoods like Mohammadi suffer from the lack of green spaces, which pushes them to storm the sidewalks. The absence of these spaces in these areas violates the right of the inhabitants to a decent living environment, denounce some.
The inhabitants of these neighborhoods devoid of green and developed spaces also reproach the municipal authorities for their lack of willingness to develop these spaces when several sites are available. They call on them to create green spaces and public gardens to improve the living conditions of the people of Marrakech.
