Search Intensifies for Body of Moroccan Man Missing in Spain Since 2018

The Civil Guard is searching for the body of Moroccan Moustapha El Karchaoui, who went missing in 2018. Armed with sniffer dogs, the agents are scouring a farm in the municipality of Muro (Majorca) in an attempt to find the remains of this Moroccan who is believed to have been the victim of murder.
Moustapha El Karchaoui, 26, has been missing since August 2018. According to the agents, everything suggests that he was murdered. This search carried out on Monday on the Muro farm, in search of his body, or what remains of it, allowed the civil guards to collect various samples that will be analyzed in the laboratory, reports Diario de Mallorca, specifying that if it is confirmed that these are human remains, a DNA test could be requested with one of Karchaoui’s relatives.
It has been almost four years since the judicial police of the Civil Guard have been investigating this mysterious disappearance of Karchaoui. A suspect was even arrested in January 2019 as part of this case, but was released a few days later because the body has still not been found. Aged 38, he died in February 2020 in the vicinity of the town of Son Banya.
Searches carried out after the young Moroccan’s disappearance had yielded nothing. The Civil Guard decided to extend the search to this Muro farm after receiving new information. To do this, they called on the sniffer dogs from Madrid, specially trained to search for human remains, no matter how many years have passed.
