Scorpion Invasion in Safi: Heat Wave Drives Dangerous Surge in Stings

Scorpions have stormed the city of Safi during this summer period. Several children have already been admitted to the hospital as a result of scorpion stings.
In Safi, reptiles and scorpions are sowing panic in the Lemiae, Afaf and Al Massira neighborhoods, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. This situation is explained by the unbearable heat wave. As a result, several cases of children bitten by snakes have been rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the local authorities have not yet decided to carry out pesticide spraying to eliminate these dangerous creatures. However, the Afaf Association for Development and Environmental Protection in Safi has alerted the mayor of the city. This correspondence dated June 26 has remained unanswered.
On the ground, it is only the people of Safi who are making doses of anti-viper serum available to local health centers, in order to save lives.
