Saudi Clubs Eye Marseille’s Ounahi with €20M Bid Amid Underwhelming Season

Two Saudi Arabian clubs are trying to sign Azzedine Ounahi and would be ready to make offers between 15 and 20 million euros to Olympique de Marseille (OM) for the Moroccan international whose performances do not seem to meet expectations.
The clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia would have expressed their interest in Azzedine Ounahi, believes L’Équipe, specifying that the second club would be more interested in the 23-year-old Moroccan player and that the two would be ready to offer between 15 and 20 million euros to OM to secure his services. In financial difficulty, OM could accept the offer of one of the two Saudi clubs and let Ounahi go, whose current performances are far from the expectations of the Marseille club, analyzes Foot Mercato.
Arrived at OM from Angers for 10 million euros during the last winter transfer window, Azzedine Ounahi had made an impression from his first match under the Marseille jersey with a superb goal against Nantes on February 1, 2023. But a month later, the 23-year-old Moroccan international, who had returned from the World Cup in Qatar with the Atlas Lions where he had particularly shone, was injured in the knee, prematurely ending his 2022/2023 season.
Ounahi (18 caps, 2 goals) made his return to the field this summer. But against all expectations, Marcelino has placed the midfielder on the left side. "We made this decision to put him in this position. He is ready to do what we ask him to do, we discussed it. He scored a nice goal on Saturday, it will help him gain confidence in what we are asking him to do. My conception of football is collective. For me, the most important thing is the collective performance of the team," the coach explained.
