Ryanair Flight Diverted, Passengers Face 11-Hour Delay on Christmas Eve

The Ryanair FR5514 flight on December 24, from Marrakech to Tours, suffered a significant delay. Initially scheduled to land at 9:45 am, the aircraft was diverted to Beauvais. The passengers finally arrived in Tours by bus at 8:30 pm.
This setback disrupted the plans of many travelers, as testified by this father from Orléans: "For the New Year’s Eve, it’s over". Gilles, another passenger, recounts his early departure from Marrakech: "I got up at 3am and then left the hotel at 4am". He was supposed to go to the airport two hours before takeoff, according to la Nouvelle Tribune.
The bus trip from Beauvais has drawn criticism. Passengers deplored a late departure at 2pm and a route taking secondary roads. A food voucher of 4 euros was distributed to them. One passenger expressed his dissatisfaction: "We really have the feeling that they have done everything to pay as little as possible".
Mohamed, who was supposed to visit the Futuroscope with his family, expressed his disappointment. He is considering legal action against the company: "When I get back, I would like to sue the company, even if I imagine that it will use the weather argument to defend itself".
This incident is the sixth of the year at Tours airport, which nevertheless claims to favor a delayed takeoff rather than a diversion. This policy was not applied for this flight.
