Ryanair Flight Diverted to Lyon Due to Weather, Causing Passenger Frustration

A plane connecting Fez to Dole was forced to land in Lyon on Friday morning, due to unfavorable weather conditions. This is not the first time this type of incident has occurred: two weeks ago, a flight had already been diverted for the same reasons.
The Ryanair aircraft, which was supposed to land at 9 a.m. in Dole, finally landed at 2 p.m. in Lyon after circling the city for a long time waiting for visibility conditions to improve. Passengers were then held on board for two hours before being able to disembark, reports Le Progrès.
This delay, combined with a lack of clear information, has caused incomprehension among some travelers. Two buses were made available to take them to Dole, while others preferred to stay in Lyon. Passengers connecting to Fez were redirected to Morocco.
Unlike the incident that occurred two weeks ago, no complaint procedure was offered to the passengers. Some of them are considering asserting their rights, even though the weather factor, the cause of the diversion, is likely to limit the possibilities for recourse.
