Ryanair Expands Morocco Routes with New Manchester-Rabat Flight

Manchester will be connected to Rabat by a new air link. Ryanair has announced its intention to launch this direct flight starting March 30. This new route brings to five the number of Moroccan destinations served from Manchester Airport.
Rabat will thus be added to Tangier, Casablanca, Marrakech and Agadir, which already have direct flights from Manchester. Flights between Rabat and Manchester will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. This frequency is intended to meet the growing demand for Morocco from the United Kingdom.
Statistics reflect this increase in demand. In 2024, nearly 500,000 travelers flew to Morocco from Manchester. This figure represents an increase compared to 2023, when 275,000 passengers had used these routes. In 2019, the number of passengers was 260,000.
Stephen Turner, Commercial Director of Manchester Airport, commented on this announcement. "We know that Morocco is an increasingly popular destination," he said, stating that the launch of this direct link to Rabat from Manchester is a major event, "only the second of its kind from a British airport."
The old medina, the Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the beaches and the Museum of History and Civilizations are cited as points of interest by the airport.
The airport also emphasizes the accessibility of Rabat and its role as a starting point to explore Morocco. "Car rental is affordable in Morocco, and as the capital, Rabat is well served by public transport connecting the other regions of the country, making it an excellent starting point to explore what the rest of the country has to offer," the airport says.
