Russia Bars Entry to 1,500 Moroccan Students, Disrupting Academic Year

Russia’s decision to close its borders risks condemning nearly 1,500 Moroccan students to a blank year. A distress call has been launched to the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the end of an academic year full of twists and turns, the candidates had returned to their families in Morocco in July, with the intention of returning the following month.
They were wrong, as the doors of Russia had closed in the meantime. According to the daily Al Massae, only naturalized students and holders of a residence permit were allowed into the country.
With such a decision, adds the media, about 1,500 Moroccan students have been prevented from resuming their higher education, the program of which started at the beginning of September.
