Moroccan Students in China Face Visa Delays, Academic Year in Jeopardy

While the academic year has resumed for a few weeks, some 500 Moroccan students in China are still stranded in the country. They have been waiting since September for the issuance of official documents from the Chinese consulate.
This embarrassing situation is likely to be detrimental to the study project of these many Moroccan students, reports Hespress. Like other students in the same predicament as him, Hamza Laroussi is worried and no longer knows where to turn. According to him, the Chinese consular services are now deaf to their calls. They rather invite the students to contact the Chinese consulate in Morocco.
For the Moroccan student, the requests filed at the consulate have not yet been processed to date. Backed into a corner, these students are willing to take the necessary steps to obtain travel authorizations from Morocco to China. "The students are willing to undergo Covid-19 screening tests to be allowed to travel from Morocco to China," he continues.
While waiting to join their respective universities, they are taking distance courses with all the constraints related to the large time difference between the two countries. To this difficulty is added some technical problems "which prevent the courses from proceeding normally."
He also expressed his concern about the fate of his personal effects since his departure from China in September last year due to Covid-19.
