Royal Gendarmerie of Morocco Reassigns 5,000 Officers in Major Redeployment

A new redeployment is taking place within the Royal Gendarmerie based on seniority and merit. Some elements have been brought closer to the workplaces of their spouses, while others have been assigned to military hospitals to continue their medical treatment.

According to the list disclosed by the human resources services of the Royal Gendarmerie Command, 5,000 gendarmes have been redeployed by General Mohamed Haramou, reports Assabah. All ranks are affected by this reassignment, operating in territorial, maritime and judicial centers, as well as in the motorcycle squadron and general intelligence, who have spent nearly five years in the North region, three years in the three Sahara regions and four years in the central regions.

The social and medical conditions of those concerned have been taken into account. Some gendarmes have thus been brought closer to the work areas of their spouses. Others have been redeployed near military hospitals to continue medical treatment.

Since his appointment at the head of the Royal Gendarmerie, Army Corps General Mohamed Haramou has broken with past practices. No more annual transfers in the last week of August. He is working to solve the logistical problems of gendarmes who had to move and enroll their children in school. The human resources department now prepares the reassignment lists two months before the start of the school and university year.
