A royal family from the Gulf on vacation in Morocco
The city of Boujdour is preparing to receive a delegation from the Qatari royal family, led by Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir’s brother. This private trip is part of the New Year celebrations and the regular visits of the princely family to the southern provinces.
The logistical preparations for this stay are already underway. According to local sources cited by Rue20, a Qatari official plane landed this Thursday at Hassan Iᵉʳ airport in Laâyoune. This early arrival aims to settle the details of the organization and accommodation of the delegation, whose visit should extend until the beginning of next year.
The Al Thani family maintains close ties with the region, where it owns a nature reserve located in the commune of Jraifia, in the southeast of the province of Boujdour. This site, dedicated in particular to the breeding of the bustard, is the subject of regular visits that allow the Qatari dignitaries to supervise their environmental and agricultural projects on site.
