Qatar to Fund New Hospital in Morocco Named After Former Emir

A Qatari hospital will soon be built in Boujdour, Morocco, and will bear the name of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, father of the current Emir.
A Qatari hospital in Morocco? Following the request for the construction of the new hospital submitted by the International Organization for the Conservation of Wildlife, Plants and the Environment, chaired by Qataris and headquartered in Boujdour, the president of the Boujdour commune recently signed a building permit, reports the site Rue20. This hospital will bear the name of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, father of the current Emir. The document signed on August 5th specifies that the town hall office received the request on July 15, 2024 on unregistered land and required the permit applicants to pay tax fees set at 103,800 dirhams.
This hospital, which will be built in the province of Boujdour near the Qatari reserve for the breeding of the houbara bustard, property of the Qatari royal family, will have a capacity of 75 equipped beds, as well as other facilities and green spaces. Most of the Qatari reserves for the protection of wildlife and the breeding of the houbara bustard are spread throughout the southern regions of the kingdom. One reserve is located in the Mahbes region, part of the Assa-Zag region, while another reserve is located about 10 kilometers in an area locally called "Souihat" in Guelmim.
Dozens of princes from Doha, including the father of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, accompanied by Qatari princes, including his son, have arrived in Morocco in recent years to spend tourist vacations in their reserve located on the lands of the commune of Jraifia east of the city of Boujdour.
