The Emir of Qatar chooses the snow of Ifrane for his family vacation
Morocco confirms its status as a popular destination for the world’s elite. After football stars, it is the turn of the Gulf royalty to set up camp in the Kingdom. The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has chosen the calm of Ifrane to celebrate the new year.
The princely plane landed last Wednesday on the tarmac of Fès-Saïss airport. Far from the tumult of the world’s great metropolises, the head of state of Qatar has opted for discretion and Moroccan nature to start 2026. Accompanied by his family, the Emir has joined the city of Ifrane to spend his winter vacation there.
According to sources cited by Rue20, the sovereign resides in the palace belonging to his mother, Sheikha Moza, a sumptuous residence nestled in the heart of the Middle Atlas. This choice is no coincidence: Ifrane, often nicknamed the "little Switzerland", offers an ideal setting combining security, intimacy and snowy landscapes, particularly appreciated by the dignitaries of the Gulf.
