Royal Bodyguard Injured in Incident with King Mohammed VI’s Convoy in Rabat

An incident occurred on Friday, October 10 when the royal convoy was disrupted by an individual who wanted to hand a letter to King Mohammed VI. The Sovereign’s bodyguard was injured while trying to intervene.
Trying to jump from the escort car that was traveling at high speed, the bodyguard was seriously injured when he lost his balance before collapsing onto the road.
The fall was short-lived, as he still managed to get up and catch the individual. The incident occurred as the convoy arrived at the Rabat-ville train station.
For the record, the 33-year-old man, father of 5 daughters and living in a precarious social situation, was sentenced on Monday, October 21 by the Court of Appeal of Rabat to a prison sentence of 2 years.
