Royal Air Maroc warns passengers about inaccurate flight alerts
Royal Air Maroc is warning passengers about incorrect flight times and false delay alerts displayed on some apps. The issue stems from Morocco’s recent time change, which is disrupting information provided by services independent of the airline.

A flight reported as delayed when it is still on time? A departure time that does not match the one scheduled by the airline? Royal Air Maroc is urging passengers to stay alert. Since Morocco’s time-zone change, some flight-tracking apps have been displaying information that may no longer reflect reality.

In a notice published on its official website on October 4, the airline explains that third-party services may provide incorrect departure or arrival times, as well as send unjustified delay notifications. This can cause confusion for travellers who use these tools to plan their journey to the airport or track the arrival of someone close to them.
The problem emerged after Morocco’s permanent return to GMT on September 20. The kingdom abandoned GMT+1, which had been in effect for most of the year since 2018. The change requires international platforms to update their time data, particularly for flights between Morocco and Europe.
Where can you check your flight’s actual time?
Royal Air Maroc recommends using its own channels rather than independent apps. Travellers can check their flight status on its official website, use the airline’s mobile app or contact its call centre.
RAM also says that changes to a flight are communicated directly to passengers by email, text message or phone notification. This depends on the contact details provided at booking being correct and up to date.

Travellers between Morocco and Europe should be particularly alert. Since September 20, Casablanca has been two hours behind Paris, Madrid and Brussels, until Europe switches to winter time on October 25. Departure and arrival times, meanwhile, are given in the local time of each airport.
