Royal Air Maroc is the most punctual on flights departing from Paris

According to a study by the French newspaper Le Parisien, in collaboration with the German company Flightright, which specializes in defending passengers in case of delays, the Moroccan airline clearly stands out in terms of punctuality. The analysis of thousands of flights departing from Paris over the last three years has revealed the performance of Royal Air Maroc, which tops the rankings on flights between Paris and the various Moroccan cities.

According to experts, this performance of the Moroccan carrier is explained by the quality of its organization. RAM has dedicated teams for the runway, baggage, and ground operations at its domestic airports, which contributes to its regularity. This organization is a comparative advantage for the Moroccan airline compared to the European context, analyzes aviation expert Xavier Tytelman.

Around 90% of the delays observed in Europe in 2024 are due to external factors such as weather, air traffic restrictions, or airport congestion. According to Eurocontrol, France is one of the countries most affected by this phenomenon, with more than 7.4 million minutes of delay accumulated in 2023.

Passengers with more than three hours of delay can claim compensation. But some airlines, particularly low-cost ones, do not handle the requests with the required speed, leading to an increase in legal proceedings. To ease the burden on the courts, mediation will be mandatory before any legal action. The measure, which will come into effect as early as February 2026, could, however, lengthen the compensation process.
