Royal Air Maroc Launches New Domestic Flight from Laâyoune to Rabat
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is strengthening its regional air base in Laâyoune. It announced on Thursday the launch, starting March 11, of a new line connecting the city to Rabat.
In a press release, RAM stated that the flights will be operated by B737-800 aircraft, every Monday and Wednesday, at a fixed and attractive price of 800 DH (including tax) one-way. It is also indicated that the flights departing from Laâyoune will be scheduled at 09:35 for an arrival in Rabat at 11:10. As for the flights departing from Rabat, they will be scheduled at 12:00 for an arrival at 13:40.
The company is also strengthening its line connecting Laâyoune to Marrakech, with an additional frequency (for a total of 3) operated every Sunday, by B737-800 aircraft, at a fixed price of 700 DH including tax one-way, the same press release specifies.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Maroc, Hamid Addou, stated that "these new air routes are part of a strategy to stimulate domestic tourism. They will allow our fellow citizens to travel more easily to the regions of Laâyoune, Marrakech and Rabat, for personal, tourist and professional reasons".
The inauguration of the Royal Air Maroc air base in Laâyoune took place on June 11, 2019, and is part of the company’s policy aimed at supporting the Kingdom’s advanced regionalization strategy. The policy is based on strengthening domestic air links in order to stimulate economic and tourism development.
