American Airlines and Royal Air Maroc Sign Historic Code-Share Agreement in Africa

This Wednesday, January 15 in Casablanca, the airlines American Airlines and Royal Air Maroc signed an agreement to share their code-share. The two companies intend to take advantage of new opportunities.
This signing of a code-share agreement is a first in aviation in Africa. A prestigious American company, which claims to be the most powerful in the world, is sealing an agreement with an African company whose reputation on the continent is established, and is trying to spread its wings to all corners of the planet.
The official signing of the code-share agreement was attended by senior officials of the two companies, namely Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM and Vasu Raja, Vice President of American Airlines. Through this agreement, the two companies will be able to offer additional options to their customers with new destinations. The CEO of RAM is convinced of this. According to him, "this new code-share confirms the major role of Royal Air Maroc as an essential player, linking Africa to the rest of the world".
Moreover, the good collaboration that has always prevailed between the two companies already allows Royal Air Maroc to serve, from its base in Casablanca, the airports of New York, Washington, Miami and since last June, Boston, while the American Airlines company will operate, from June 4 next, a new seasonal link between Philadelphia and Casablanca, its first to Africa, the same source specifies.
It should be noted that Royal Air Maroc will officially join the Oneworld alliance, of which American Airlines is one of the founding companies, during the first quarter of 2020. This is one of the largest airline alliances in the world, which is welcoming an African company for the first time.
