AS Roma Eyes Medhi Benatia Return to Fill Manolas Void

AS Roma would be interested in the return of Medhi Benatia, to replace Kostas Manolas who is leaving the club this season. Will he respond to the call of his former club, despite his high salary with his current club Al Duhail?
Medhi Benatia could well return to AS Roma where he spent the 2013-14 season, if the latter could match his current salary. At Al Duhail, Benatia earns 5 million euros per season, while the Giallorossi are offering him half.
In a statement to Yahoo Sport, he says "I loved playing in Rome. It’s everything I love, the madness when you win, the fire when you lose. Me, I need that. I love that environment. I only stayed one season and I was so good that in January, I bought a house in Rome because I thought I would stay there for a long time."
Is this enough to announce a return to the Romans? Difficult to say for now, even if he adds: "I really loved playing for AS Roma. Even today, many supporters I meet can’t believe I only played there for a year."
