AS Roma Confirms Failed Bid for Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech in Winter Transfer Window

In addition to PSG, FC Barcelona, Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech was also on AS Roma’s radar during the winter transfer window. But the negotiations failed.
"Hakim Ziyech was one of our targets, we discussed with his agents and with Chelsea, but the deal fell through," Tiago Pinto, Roma’s sporting director, told the sports media, regretting the last-minute failure of his transfer to PSG. "I’m sorry for what happened to him, it was difficult for him, but those who said we were in contact with Ziyech’s agents were right," he added.

Ziyech wanted to leave Stamford Bridge at all costs in January. After successfully passing his medical, he was only waiting for the official announcement of his loan. But the wait was endless. Subsequently, the 29-year-old player "had offered to pay with his own money so that the deal could be concluded." His efforts proved in vain. Chelsea thwarted his last-minute transfer to PSG.
