Rising Moroccan Star Bilal El Khannouss Draws Interest from Top European Clubs

A young 19-year-old Moroccan player is coveted by many European clubs, including Atletico Madrid. But his price could cool the suitors.
At least six clubs, including Atletico Madrid, AS Roma, and Olympique de Marseille, are closely interested in Bilal El Khannouss, the Genk midfielder. The 19-year-old Moroccan player, who came through the Anderlecht academy before joining Genk in 2019, is now a key element in his team, with outstanding performances over the past season.
Since his debut with the first team in 2021-2022, El Khannouss has accumulated 76 appearances, scored four goals and provided ten assists. His rapid progress has made him a central element in coach Wouter Vrancken’s plans, demonstrating his potential and ability to influence the game.
With a contract running until 2027, the price set for El Khannouss is 35 million euros, a significant amount that reflects his estimated value by Genk. Even if this price seems high, the value of the young player, who has just been called up by Walid Regragui for the Africa Cup of Nations, could very quickly take off after the African competition.
At the international level, El Khannouss has also proven himself by representing Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar, where he played against Croatia. His three senior national team selections reinforce his profile and mark the beginning of a long career for an endearing player with a bright future.
