Rare confidences from Abdelhamid Sabiri. He confided in one of the Moroccan YouTubers about his beginnings before becoming a professional in the world of football. He says he started working at the age of 14, where he delivered newspapers and pizzas to meet his football needs. According to his explanations, he became a professional at the age of 17. According to the 27-year-old player, it was his love and passion for football that led him to embrace this discipline.
Originally, Abdelhamid claims he had never dreamed of defending the colors of Morocco. The trigger came after he played with the Moroccan team and realized that he was talented at the game. The Moroccan attacking midfielder also confides that he used his first salary to buy a house for his parents in the city of Guelmim. "Thank God, I have realized the dream of my parents," he rejoiced.
Abdelhamid is one of the architects of the historic journey of the Moroccan team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. A dual national player - he holds both German and Moroccan nationality - he had definitively joined the den of the Atlas Lions in 2022. He had scored five goals in 32 appearances in Serie A. After a short stint at Fiorentina, Sabiri signed with Al-Fayha in September last year. The Saudi Pro League club signed the Moroccan attacking midfielder on loan for a season for an amount of $500,000, with an option to buy clause of 2.5 million euros at the end of the season. With his Moroccan teammates, he will participate in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) which will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire.
