Morocco Coach Regragui to Pursue Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz After AFCON

Walid Regragui does not let go of Brahim Diaz. The Moroccan coach is ready to do what is necessary for the Real Madrid midfielder to join the Moroccan national team after the Africa Cup of Nations (January 13 - February 11).

According to Regragui, who plans to hold a meeting with Diaz after the continental tournament, the player has his place in the Moroccan team. The coach wants to benefit from Diaz’s experience for the Atlas Lions.

For several months, Brahim Diaz has been hesitating to change his sporting nationality. Born in Spain to a Moroccan father and a Spanish mother, the player started his international career in the Spanish youth categories and is awaiting a call-up to the senior team that is slow in coming.

Through his agent, Diaz will initiate the procedures with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in the coming days to quickly join the Moroccan national team.
