Spain puts pressure on Brahim Díaz
Shining since his return to Real Madrid, Brahim Diaz is in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans. But in the Spanish national team, the future of the player of Moroccan origin remains uncertain. Luis de la Fuente is slow to call up Diaz, who could ultimately join the Moroccan team.
A Spanish international with the youth categories, Brahim Diaz joined the senior team in 2021 during the match against Lithuania. Since then, nothing more. The Real Madrid midfielder has not been called up to the national team again. Luis de la Fuente, the coach of La Roja, recently spoke on this subject, according to Sport.es.
"Whoever wants to join the Spanish team must be convinced and must not be subject to any kind of blackmail. I have known Brahim for a long time, I met him in the Spanish youth teams, I know that he wants to play for Spain," he said.
Persistent rumors had announced that Brahim Diaz was going to join the den of the Atlas Lions. But so far, the information has not been verified. What is certain is that Brahim Diaz’s name was not on the list of players called up by Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
For the moment, the situation of the 24-year-old player remains uncertain in the Spanish national team. If Luis de la Fuente does not call him up for La Roja’s next match, the midfielder could ultimately accept the proposal from Morocco, which has been trying for months to convince him to join the Atlas Lions.
