Morocco Coach Pursues Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz for National Team Switch

Walid Regragui is multiplying initiatives to convince Brahim Diaz to join the Moroccan team. The Real Madrid midfielder is hesitating to make a choice between the Atlas Lions and the Roja.
The coach of the Moroccan national team met on Saturday in a hotel near Marrakech, the father of Brahim Diaz, in the presence of his agent, informed sources told Kech24, specifying that Regragui should hold a new session this Monday with the two close to the player at the Maamoura National Football Center, in order to finalize the negotiations regarding the integration of Diaz into the Moroccan team.
The Moroccan technician is keen to conclude these negotiations before finalizing the list of players called up for Morocco’s next matches, scheduled for March. Recall that the Atlas Lions will face Angola and Mauritania in friendly matches on March 22 and 26 respectively at the Grand Stadium in Agadir.
Walid Regragui wants to strengthen the attack of the Atlas Lions after their early elimination in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, and wants to be able to count on Diaz’s exceptional talent. "He is a player who has interested us for a long time. And of course, he still interests us. If we know he is ready, we will call him up. Otherwise, it won’t happen," the Moroccan coach said in November, explaining the non-selection of Diaz for the CAN 2023 preparation matches against Eritrea and Tanzania.
