Rif Protest Leader’s Mother Resumes European Tour, Defies Arrest Warnings

Friday 8 March 2019, by Amine

Mother and son probably resemble each other, to the point that Nasser Zefzafi would have warned his mother, Zoulikha Si Haddou, that she risked "joining" him in the Oukacha prison.

After an absence for health reasons (the treatment of breast cancer), Zoulikha Si Haddou, the mother of the leader of the Rif Hirak Nasser Zefzafi, has just started her European tour again, which aims to support her son as well as all the convicted Hirak activists.

At a meeting held last Thursday in Paris, France, the latter stated that she is like her son: "I do as Nasser did. He went forward, without worrying about death, without worrying about arrests, torture. Here I am going forward like him, even though the security forces surround us."

The latter, according to Alyaoum24, also declared in this sense that during all her participations in demonstrations in Al Hoceima, the security forces approached her, asking her to leave. To which she retorted: "Here I am, arrest me if you want to arrest me!" Zoulikha has become the voice of the mothers of the Hirak convicts.

Nasser Zefzafi, seeing all this, would have told her: "One day they will arrest you and bring you here (the Oukacha prison)". And she would have replied: "I hope so. To be closer to you!".

Zoulikha Si Haddou also stated: "I tell you, prison is not a source of shame for us, if we are arrested in a case concerning the struggle for honor and dignity. My address, they know it. And if they want, let them come and arrest me. Our sons are a crown on our heads. They are fighting from their cells, and we are fighting outside."
