Renowned Moroccan Royal Physician Moulay Driss Archane Dies at 88

The Moroccan medical world is in mourning. Professor Moulay Driss Archane, former physician of the late Hassan II, died this Sunday, July 11 at the age of 88.
Professor Moulay Driss Archane, a famous military doctor, former personal physician of the late Hassan II, died this Sunday morning, July 11 in a clinic in Rabat.
Born on June 14, 1934 in Tiflet, Moulay Driss Archane is an emblematic figure in healthcare. His specialty: thoracic and abdominal diseases. The reputation of this practitioner goes beyond the borders of Morocco. He was elected foreign associate member of the medical division of the Academy of Medicine on June 25, 2002. He was president of the National Council of the Order of Physicians of Morocco (CNOM) for years.
During his career, Professor Moulay Driss Archane passed on his know-how to several generations of doctors. In 2018, a tribute was paid to the practitioner and his colleague Moulay Tahar Alaoui on the sidelines of the second general assembly of the CNOM.
His family will organize his funeral in a cemetery near Tiflet, Monday, July 12, after the Addohr prayer.
