Morocco’s Crown Prince Moulay Hassan Turns 19, Continues Royal Duties

The heir apparent Moulay Hassan celebrates his 19th birthday this Sunday, May 8. Eldest son of King Mohammed VI and Princess Lalla Salma, Moulay Hassan often appears alongside his father during official activities, which the sovereign is keen to associate him with.
The prince’s last public appearance was on May 2. He was with the Moroccan sovereign as well as Prince Moulay Rachid for the Eid al-Fitr prayer.
The birth of the young prince on May 8, 2003 was joyfully celebrated throughout the country. The heir apparent was named Hassan in tribute to his grandfather, the late King Hassan II.
Moulay Hassan has a younger sister, Lalla Khadija, born on February 28, 2007 in Rabat. The two children of King Mohammed VI have pursued their studies at the Royal College of Rabat, founded in 1942 by the late Mohammed V.
